Multiple users can edit the same presentation in real time using SlideRocket’s Library Slides feature. 

 

This document covers

 

A Library Slide is a slide that is stored in the Slide Library and can be used in multiple presentations. A library slide can be built directly in the Slide Library or created by adding a presentation slide to the Slide Library. When a library slide is updated, the updates are applied to every presentation containing that slide. For more information about library slides click here.

 

 

Building a Presentation Using Library Slides

  1. Create new Library Slide
    1. Click New Slide newslide.png from Slide Library
    2. Enter name for slide in Name box
    3. Select Theme for presentation
    4. Select Slide aspect ratio that will be used for presentation
      standard.png
    5. Click OK 
    6. Slide will automatically open in Slide Editor 
    7. Make any desired edits to slide 
    8. Click File 
    9. Click Return to Library
    10. Click Yes to save changes
  2. Click SlideRocket logo sr.png to return to main screen
  3. Create new presentation
    1. Click New newpres.png in Presentation Library
    2. Enter Name for presentation
    3. Select a theme for presentation
    4. Select slide aspect ratio
    5. Click Ok
  4. Click Library icon in Presentation Editor to open Slide Library

  5. Drag and drop library slides into Slide Tray
  6. Click Close Library closelibrary.png to return to Presentation Editor 

 

ADVANCED NOTE: While only one user can have a presentation open in the Presentation Editor at a time, multiple users can be editing presentation content concurrently by editing Library Slides. Multiple users can be editing different library slides at the same time and the presentation containing those slides will be updated automatically each time a library slide is saved. The presentation only needs to be opened in the Presentation Editor to add a new slide or change the order of the slides. 

 

 

Collaborating Library Slides Using Shared Folders

Library slides can be organized and shared with other SlideRocket users within Shared Folders

  1. Click Add button add.png next to Shared Folders
  2. Type Name
  3. Click Ok
  4. Set Who can access this folder
    • Only me: Folder contents are private and can only be viewed and edited by the creator
    • Everyone in my company: All users in company can view and edit items in folder
    • The following people and groups only: Type username or email for an individual or name of group then click Add button add.png. Click down arrow next to Add button to view list of all users and groups in company whoaccess.png
  5. For any users or groups added, permission level can be changed from Edit to View. Users with View permission cannot make any changes to presentation

  6. Click Ok

  

ADVANCED NOTE: If the option Everyone in my company is selected the permission level is automatically set to Edit. To restrict everyone in the company to View, add the Everyone group under The following people and groups only and then set the permission level for that group to View.

 

 

Slide History

Users can view what saved changes were made, see who made the changes, and return to a previously saved version. To revert to a previously saved version of a slide

  1. Click on Slides Library
  2. Double-click desired slide
  3. Click Edit
  4. In Slide Editor click History history.png
  5. Select previously-saved version
  6. Click Close
  7. Confirm returning to previous version by clicking Yes

ADVANCED NOTE: All slide versions, including those later than the version in which it was reverted, will still be visible in the Slide History.
