Playing a Presentation Offline on the iPad

With SlideRocket’s new iPad App you can log into your SlideRocket account and cache your presentations for later viewing, play presentations, view analytics information, send invites, and upload PowerPoint presentations - all from your iPad.

 

SlideRocket’s iPad App is available for download from the App Store on the iPad. Once the iPad App is installed, users can either log into an existing account or create a new account.

Logging into an Existing SlideRocket Account

  1. Tap SlideRocket icon
    sliderocketicon.png
  2. Enter Email and Password in boxes
  3. Tap Login login.png

 

Caching a Presentation

  1. Tap box next to Show online presentations showonlinepresentations.png. This will display thumbnails for all presentations in account
  2. Locate presentation by swiping through Presentation Library or by entering name in search box searchbox.png
  3. Tap presentation to cache
  4. Tap Download button downloadbutton.png or the yellow bar to cache presentation notavailableplayback.png

 

ADVANCED NOTES: 

  • To ensure all content displays correctly in the presentation, wait until the presentation has cached completely before tapping Play play.png
  • If a cached presentation is out of date the Download button will turn into a star starbutton.png. Tap the star or the yellow bar to re-download the presentation

Removing a Cached Presentation

  1. Tap presentation in Presentation Library
  2. Tap filled-in Download icon downloadicon.png
  3. Tap Ok to confirm removal of presentation

 

ADVANCED NOTE: To view how much space is used by cached presentations tap the Settings icon settingsicon.png in lower-right corner of Presentation Library

 

 

Playing a Presentation

Presentations that are cached and available for play are indicated by a filled-in Download icon downloadicon.png. If Show online presentations showonlinepresentations.png is unchecked, only presentations that are cached and already available for play will be shown.  

  1. Tap a cached presentation to pull up Presentation Detail Page
  2. Tap Play play.png
  3. Swipe from left to right to advance through presentation and trigger builds
  4. To exit presentation tap screen to bring up the top navigation bar, then tap Back back.png 

 

ADVANCED NOTE

  • Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to reveal the Slide Tray. The Slide Tray can be used to navigate to different slides in the presentation
  • If a cached presentation is out of date the Download button will turn into a star starbutton.png. Tap the star or the yellow bar to re-download the presentation

Sending an Invite

  1. Tap presentation in Presentation Library
  2. Tap Invite invite.png
  3. Type recipient email address after To:
  4. Type message to recipient (optional)
  5. Set Viewing Options:
    viewingoptionssendinvite.png
    • Notify me when viewed: Sends email when presentation is viewed
    • Allow recipient to comment: Sets whether viewers of invite are allowed to add comments to presentation
    • Allow recipient to export: Sets whether viewers of invite are allowed to download presentation as PDF
    • Allow recipient to share: Sets whether viewers of this invite are allowed to reshare presentation with others or embed it on a blog or website. If presentation is not published, this link will not work
    • Expire invitation: Sets end date to view presentation from this invite. This is optional and can be set or changed after invite is sent
  6. Tap Send

 

ADVANCED NOTES

  • Viewing Options for sent invites can only be changed when logged into SlideRocket on a computer
  • Only one recipient can be entered per invite

 

 

Viewing Presentation Analytics

  1. Tap presentation in Presentation Library
  2. Tap Analytics analytics.png
  3. The following analytics information is viewable on an iPad analyticsoverview.png
    • Summary Bar: Displays total views, unique views, average view time, number of invites sent, number of invites viewed, number of comments, and number of form/poll responses summarybar.png
    • Graph: Visual representation of all presentation views over time
    • Detailed viewing sessions: Information for individual views on how presentation was viewed, who by, how long ago, and from what location

    • Map: Shows all locations where presentation was viewed

 

ADVANCED NOTES: 

  • More detailed viewing information, including Form and Poll responses and customized date ranges is available when analytics are viewed on a computer
  • The iPad must be connected to the Internet to view Analytics

 

 

Importing a PowerPoint Presentation

  1. Open PowerPoint file on iPad
  2. Tap arrow arrowupperright.png in upper right. If arrow not visible tap screen once to make it appear
  3. Tap Open in “SlideRocket” openinsliderocket.png. SlideRocket’s iPad App will open automatically
  4. Log into SlideRocket if not logged in already
  5. The presentation will begin uploading into SlideRocket account. Once presentation has finished uploading it will automatically begin caching to the iPad. Once presentation has finished caching it can be played by tapping Play play.png 

 

 

Logging Out of the iPad App

  1. Tap Settings icon settingsicon.png in the lower-right corner of Presentation Library
  2. Tap Logout

Supported Presentation Features in the iPad App

  • Transitions: Flip, CubeRotate, CrossFade, and Push
    • Non-supported transitions convert to CrossFade: Wipe, Swap, Reflect, Revolve, Doorway, Iris, MoveIn, Reveal
  • Builds : Appear, Fade, Fly, Scale
    • Non-Supported builds change to Fade: Wipe, Glow, Sparkle, Blur, Materialize, FlyZoomSpin, Typewriter
    • Set text builds to animate together
    • Builds by bullet will animate as 1 text block
    • Builds layered under non-building elements will no longer be displayed
  • Animated Plugins: StockQuotes is represented as a static image. The image is of the plugin loaded/cached
  • Forms and Polls display as a picture
  • Dynamically updating Google Chart and Tables show data from when optimization occurred 
  • For Video, use MP4. Videos can be played back fullscreen
  • YouTube only in browser playback
  • Presentation soundtrack audio. Only supported in presentations without slide audio
  • Hyperlinks applied to shapes or images. Hyperlinks applied to text or textboxes are not supported
  • Effects on all Elements
    • Flag and Sonar display as picture

 

 

Non-Supported Presentation Features in the iPad App

  • SWF Animations
  • FLV video
  • YouTube in iPad app. Supported in browser playback
  • AutoPlay of videos
  • Presentation with both soundtrack audio and slide audio will only play slide audio
  • Audio on builds
  • Form/Poll interaction
  • Chart Roll-Overs
  • HoverTips
  • Hyperlinks
    • Hyperlink to Asset
    • Hyperlink applied to text or textboxes
  • TwitterFeed plugin
  • Snow plugin
