There are several Shapes available to customize your presentation. Shapes can be accessed by clicking the Shape icon Screen_Shot_2013-04-19_at_1.08.49_PM.png in the Element Toolbar, located on the left-hand side of the canvas, within the Presentation Editor. Changes can also be made to Library Slides and Slide Groups using the Slide Editor. Once added to a slide, each shape can be resized and customized. 

 

Adding a Shape to a Slide

  1. Click Shape icon Screen_Shot_2013-04-19_at_1.08.49_PM.png in Presentation Editor
  2. Select desired shape

  3. Click slide where shape should appear

 

Customizing a Shape

Shapes have several different features that can be customized.

  • Text: To add text to shape, select shape and start typing
    • Text AutoFit: Set how text will appear inside shape

  • Style: The following features can be adjusted in Styles tab Screen_Shot_2013-04-19_at_1.11.42_PM.png of Element Properties Panel
    • Opacity: Set how opaque or see-through element appears
    • Fill: Fill shape with solid color, gradient, or image. For more information about these options click here
    • Stroke: Give shape an outline. Color, weight, and joints of stroke can be adjusted

    • Font: Set everything having to do with text, including font family, font face, color, size, alignment, location, and casing. For detailed information about how to customize text click here
  • Size: Drag corner or edge of shape to change shape’s size
  • Rotation: There are 2 ways to rotate shape
    • Click and drag blue dot above shape
    • Under Transform tab Screen_Shot_2013-04-19_at_1.13.23_PM.png in Element Properties Panel, drag circle (hold down Shift key to constrain rotation to 45-degree increments) or enter number in box

 

ADVANCED NOTES: Some shapes have on-screen controls for customizing appearance and dimensions. The star shape, for example, has the following unique controls.

  • Move arrow on scale slider to set number of points on star
  • Drag blue dot located inside top point of star to set distance between center of star and edges
