Optimizing Presentations for iPads and iPhones

SlideRocket presentations can be viewed on iPads and iPhones. When a link to a SlideRocket presentation is clicked on using an iPad or iPhone, SlideRocket recognizes the device and automatically optimizes the presentation for HTML5. The viewer must have an Internet connection to view a presentation on an iPad or iPhone. An Internet connection is necessary to view a presentation from a link on an iPad or iPhone. The presentation can be downloaded as a PDF and viewed offline on an iPad or iPhone. SlideRocket does not currently support creation or editing of presentations on iPads and iPhones. Presentations must be created and edited on a computer before being viewed on an iPad or iPhone.  

 

Not all SlideRocket features are supported on the iPad and iPhone and it is important to take these into consideration when designing presentations to be viewed on these devices. A complete list of which features are and are not supported can be found below.

Supported Features in iPad/iPhone Viewer

  • Transitions: Flip, CubeRotate, CrossFade, and Push 
    • Non-supported transitions convert to CrossFade: Wipe, Swap, Reflect, Revolve, Doorway, Iris, MoveIn, Reveal
  • Builds: Appear, Fade, Fly, Scale
    • Non-Supported builds change to Fade: Wipe, Glow, Sparkle, Blur, Materialize, FlyZoomSpin, Typewriter
    • Set text builds to animate together 
    • Builds by bullet will animate as 1 text block
    • Builds layered under non-building elements will no longer be displayed
  • Animated Plugins show picture for Stock Quotes, Twitter, Snow 
  • Forms and Polls display as a picture
  • Dynamically updating Google Chart and Tables show data from when optimization occurred
  • For Video use MP4. Videos can be played back fullscreen 
  • YouTube only in browser playback
  • Presentation soundtrack audio. Only supported in presentations without slide audio
  • Hyperlinks applied to shapes or images. Hyperlinks applied to text or textboxes are not supported
  • Effects on all Elements
    • Flag and Sonar display as picture

 

Non-Supported Presentation Features in iPad/iPhone Viewer

  • SWF Animations
  • FLV video
  • YouTube in iPad app. Supported in browser playback
  • AutoPlay of videos
  • Presentation with both soundtrack audio and slide audio will only play slide audio
  • Audio on builds
  • Form/Poll interaction
  • Chart Roll-Overs
  • HoverTips
  • Hyperlinks
    • Hyperlink to Asset
    • Hyperlinks applied to text or Textboxes

Navigation Bar

  • Tap to display navigation bar
  • Tap Slide Number in navigation bar to reveal and hide Slide Sorter
  • Use arrows in Navigation Bar to navigate between slides 

 

Swipe to Navigate

  • Swipe left to right to advance between slides
  • Swipe right to left to go back
  • Swipe up to reveal Slide Sorter 
  • Scan slides in Slide Sorter by swiping left and right
  • Tap Slide Sorter thumbnail to load slide
  • Swipe down to hide Slide Sorter

 

Playing Builds

  • Swipe to animate Wait for Click builds
  • Automatic builds will build automatically

 

Video in Presentation on iPad
